30 Day Primer: Day 24 – How to Treat Your Skin During Winter

We know it is cold out and you don’t love it. I mean really who does? For the next couple months you are stuck with rain, snow, and  annoying cold conditions that are damaging on your skin. Now, you can complain about it or you can take action and properly arm yourself with grooming essentials to keep you looking your best.

Packed with aloe, shea butter and avocado oil, this unscented moisturizing cream hydrates and helps repair very dry skin. Infused with vitamins E, C and B5, the extra thick cream delivers nutrients to rough and chapped areas. Easy to apply formula absorbs quickly into dry skin without leaving a greasy after feel.

The Shower – This is where winterizing your skin all starts. It it the beginning and for some the end your day. While taking your morning shower, exfoliate your skin using an exfoliating body bar for Portland General Store, or a gentle salt scrub over your body. This allows the natural-oils your body has to flow throughout evenly. Only exfoliate once or twice out of the week to reduce dryness.

Your Body – After the shower applying a moisturizing lotion or oil to your skin while it is still damp allows your body to absorb it better. We suggest Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Vitalizing Gel Body Oil. Do not let the name fool you, this gel goes on smooth without being overly oily on the skin.

Face – Products that have nourishing oils and vitamins help acts as a great wall of defense against the colder climates. You always need a good SPF year-round and a facial serum acts as a nutrition based wall of protection against the changing climates

Hydro-Salve-Hand-Cream-2Something For Your Hands – Baxter of California’s Hydro Salve Hand Cream is the newest addition to the west coast based grooming line. This is a great product for locking in moisture and easy to travel with.
