30 Day Primer Vol. 2: Day 3 – Go Single

I normally never single guy when it comes to my monk strap shoes. I favor a good pair of chocolate brown double-monk strap shoes over a single option any day, but recently I had the opportunity to try out the total opposite. The men’s footwear brand, Paul Evans New York sent over a pair of black, single-monk strap shoes for me to try out. After I managed to get over my prejudice of single monk strap shoes, I must say they worked well with various outfits.

The Olivier Single Monk Strap shoe is made with a full-grain Italian calfskin leather upper with a Blake stitch construction. The calf skin leather is a smooth leather that will soften up over time after a few wears. The Blake stitch construction is a added benefit because it offers flexibility and comfort when you first put them one. Unlike its popular counterpart, Goodyear welt (which lasts longer) you don’t have to take to worry about the “breaking in” process. The leather sole is really smooth, so I would highly suggest going to your nearest clobber to get a half rubber sole for grip and durability.

Just in time for a making a statement at a new job or variety in your collection, this black single monk strap from Paul Evans is a stylish option to consider.
