Dating Advice With Edge Shave Gel and Professional Dating Expert John Keegan

The traditional way of courtship and finding a companion is over. Should we blame technology for killing chivalry? That would be a stretch, but it has made it easier for people to find a partner. The type of partner you are looking for is up to you, but finding someone is honestly just a swipe away. As much as I’ve heard horror and incredibly weird online dating stories, I’ve also heard many success stories from couples who found each other online as well. In fact, online dating statistics show that 20% of those in current, committed relationships began online, and 7% of marriages in 2015 were between couples that met on a dating website.

One night stands or arranged hookups can be fun, but they are short-term experiences. If you are looking for a connection that will last more than just a few hours of fun, then maybe you should brush up on your dating skills.

I recently attended a date night-themed event hosted by Edge Shave Gel to celebrate the launch of its latest product, Edge® Cleansing Shave Gel, which lifts away dirt and oil while giving you a smooth, irritation-free shave. On hand was New York City-based professional dating expert John Keegan, who let me in on his   Top 5 dating tips to get you through any first date.

Mirror, Mirror

When sitting across from someone, try to emulate their behavior. If they lean in, you lean in. If they lean back, you follow suit. This method is an excellent way to start a trust and put your companion at ease! Try not to be too noticeable when doing so. You don’t want someone to think you’re immature.

Understand Body Language

When approaching a someone, keep your body language facing outwards, not boxed-in. Looking your best doesn’t hurt either. Guys, one way you can put your best face forward with a close shave and using Edge Cleansing Shave Gel.

Don’t Be Shy, Bro

Trust your instincts, and be open to sharing your opinion or feelings. Don’t be shy yourself, and conversely, don’t take shyness as lack of interest in you. It is natural for a person to be shy when meeting someone for the first time – don’t assume they’re not attracted to you; it’s possible they’re just shy!

Confidence Is Key

We lose faith or overanalyze, and don’t hang on to that spark that attracts people to us in the first place. Making sure you have a great shave will instantly increase your confidence to feel your best – using Edge Cleansing Shave Gel, which lifts away dirt and oil, is one of my favorite ways to prep for a date.

Go With Your Gut

If you meet someone and feel an instant connection, then you should hone in with that instinct and don’t let the fear of rejection stop you from pursuing that person.
