History
When British soldiers were stationed in Madra, India during the 19th Century, they needed to sport something that could stand against the city’s humid climate. They decided to adopt the loose fabric in replace of their wool turtlenecks—good idea. The over-under weaved fabric turned out to be highly breathable and lightweight for the English soldiers.
Assembly
There isn’t a fantastic origin to the pattern. It looks American but honestly, people just thought it looked cool, and that is good enough for us.
Colors
We thank the Scottish for their appreciated for tartan pattern. Due to their influence, we now have madras with multi color variations
Care
Wear it, throw it in the washing machine, air dry, and wear it again. Because of the fabric and construction you are able to avoid the dry cleaners all the time. Unless you are just that type of person.
