“Momma always says there’s an awful lot you could tell about a person by their shoes. Where they’re going. Where they’ve been.”– Forrest Gump
I personally feel before a suit, nice bag, shirt or tie, shoes should be considered the most important piece to a man’s wardrobe. Yep, shoes! If you think about how much wear and tear is place on your pair of lace ups, then you would agree with me. You need your shoes to look good and you need them to last, which is why I consider a great looking pair of comfortable shoes is the most substantial item you can own. I realized the significance once I started to dress up more and having to walk through the rugged streets of New York City. Uneven pavements and cobblestones are in most of the areas in New York and your shoes really take a beating, so I decided to spend some birthday money and invested in a pair of Goodyear welt wingtips. It was worth the investment.
Since that initial shoe investment and creating Gents Among Men, I’ve been introduce to and owned various designers and footwear brands that I respect and appreciate. However, I have yet to experience the pleasure of owning a pair of Paul Stuart shoes…until now.
I am pleased to announce my participation with Paul Stuart’s Made-to-Order (MtO) footwear launch. The 77 year old brand is highly known for producing excellent garments and raising the standards for haberdasheries all over, and to be a part of this launch is truly an honor. Starting 10/23 I will be documenting my journey into a new pair of shoes through the Gents Among Men’s Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages, as well as releasing editorials of my experience with the MtO process the week of 10/27.
Check back for updates beginning on 10/23
