If you get the chance to take your eyes off all the action in the upcoming Bond movie SkyFall, pay attention to the coat Bond wears in a few scenes. The Alabama based company, Billy Reid created the cropped cut navy peacoat he will be saving the world in.
Rumor has it Mr. Bond himself purchased a peacoat from their NY shop, and he loved the coat so much he wanted it to be featured in the film. The company was asked to remake and supply twenty coats* for the Bond film.
The latest version of the classic coat is slimmer and shorter with peaked lapels. The coat’s design team managed to keep the same navy 100% wool source and natural hornbuttons, as the previous coat.
You can pre-order your “Bond Coat” now at the Billy Reid’s website, or try your luck when it hits their US shops November 9th, the same day Skyfall hits US theaters.
*Only 19 coats were supplied for the film, but Daniel Craig loved the new version so much, he ordered a personal one for himself.
